Very attractive old pub between the railway station and the River Aire; and although obviously a food-led establishment, you really shouldn't walk past a place like this (so of course I didn't, although not in my plan...). Anyway, the elongated listed building is subdivided into several parts, with the bar by the main entrance, general seating areas of to the right and a least two dining rooms (plus a mezzanine) on the left-hand side. Landlord (£5.00) and Black Sheep Pale available from two of the three handpumps.

Old stone built pub at right angles to the main road close to Apperley Bridge station and with bus stops outside. Roughly dividing into three sections with the counter in the middle section, each end is laid out for dining. The bar area has flag and board floors and is furnished in a mix of styles, high, middling and armchairs by the fireplace. One end is stone walled while the other is part panelled and high ceilinged decorated in baronial style. I believe there’s a mezzanine floor above the bar area but didn’t check. Solo, double and treble keg taps, draught cocktails and three pulls provide the refreshments, cask beers from Black Sheep, Taylors and Ossett, my Black Sheep was either not long for this world or the pipes were insufficiently pulled through, I suspect the former.
