Court Inn, Durham

First time visit to this 2012 Good Beer Guide pub. It is a short walk from the centre and has a well appointed dining area and very reasonable and varied menu. The real ale was what appeared to be 2 ales badged for the pub. Both had elaborate clips that appeared to be home made with no brewery names on them. One was from Daleside Cloggin' Betty 3.7%. The other was Mordue Rosie (coloured spectacles) 4.8%. A board displayed the beers and breweries plus the price. Both £3.60 a pint. Reluctant to pay that for a 3.7% beer we had the 4.8% and it was a well kept ale.

A decent pub this one with well kept ales and friendly staff. I usually pop in here after visiting the Dun Cow and before the victoria. This visit I enjoyed the Mordue Northumbrian blonde and Mordue Workie Ticket named Gaol Ale for the pub. Has decent clientelle

Fairly central location, but nonetheless tucked away from the crowds. A couple of tables out the front and a small courtyard. There seems to be a large restaurant area although we didn't try the food. A couple of beers on tap along with Olde English Cyder.

Although a little way outside the city centre, the pub is definitely worth a visit in particular if you are dining,where you will get large portions of food with a varied menu A couple of the dishes were in the high price range,but the excelent quality made up for that.I must admit though i was slightly surprised at paying for the meal before being served, apart from that the pub was great.
