The Crafty Two, Tamworth

The Crafty Two has high tables in the front bar area and standard tables up the right to the rear. One of the four hand pumps was in use drawing Pedigree and there was a premium keg selection. The barman was friendly, but I regretted ordering a full pint of Cruzcampo because other than a bit of background music there was nothing going on in this very basic central town pub.

A new place that still smells of refurb, upgraded from what sounds like one of town’s roughest boozers. The name and exterior signage promised much but it doesn't really deliver, two cask in Brains Rev James and Tim Taylor Landlord (NBSS 3) with the only faintly craft kegs being Beavertown and Lagunitas, both macro owned. The inside is probably the closest Tamworth gets to hipster; stripped wood, some retro furniture which is either new or heavily reconditioned and the large windows give the place a light and airy feel. Friendly barmaid was a bonus. It's fair crawl fodder.
