Split-level music pub with - as you would expect - limited furniture and basic decor. Pinball machine and pool table. Canal-side patio beer garden. Four handpumps, offering Church End Goats Milk (£3.20) and Sharp's Offshore IPA in addition to the regular Robinson's Trooper and Old Rosie cider.

LOVELY, LOVELY, LOVELY 10 OUT OF 10 and what a find in Clanfield! This Indian/British fusion Bistro and Wine Bar is very nicely styled with a great atmosphere along with a lovely bar area if you just want a drink. The food is fantastic and not too expensive with an extensive selection of wines at very reasonable prices. There are plenty of staff who are very polite, friendly and attentive. Oh, the 'facilities' are well appointed and extremely clean. The owner said that he is planning to add even more dishes to his menu to cater to a more diverse palate and I look forward to sampling those in the future.

I returned to this pub as a friend wanted to get tickets for an upcoming gig and i can say it has improved It remains an uninspiring canalside pub from the exterior, with patio area. Originally i t was far nicer to get a beer and drink outside than remain in, but they have made a bit more of an effort, as it now feels like a decent music venue. The intrior is on different levelss, but is open plan, in white and wood panel, wood floor, some bench seats, with a couple of pool tables. There is now some pop art, which although not my style, at least gives a decent music heritage with; the Sex Pistols, Hendrix and Debbie Harry. Music was rock, service good and being miserable, the clientele was small and only partly scruffy. Usual taps, but now served by three real ales; Adnams Broadside and decent Skinners Betty Stoggs and Cottage Brewery's Big Boy Whilst i would still frequent the Prince of Wales first, this pub deserves a revisit - and with the choice of real ale, i would even go and see a gig there
