The Globe, Glossop

Splendid unspoiled interior with various areas divided off by carved wooden arches. There are three main areas, two with direct access to the servery. At each side is a larger sitting room the right hand one with banquette seating being served with a counter, in the middle a snug like area with banquettes, a piano and a machine. On the left is more seating at banquettes with a couple of separate tables. The right hand room has a pinball table and I think upstairs is a function room mainly used for heavy metal music recitals. Camra plays down this impressive Victorian interior and mentions the Globe brewery, like Quinno I didn’t find any of their beers on, four from Millstone across the three pulls in the front bar and two in the right hand bar. The kegs were fairly different though. Sadly the mirrors in the left hand bar were disfigured with football tripe.
