All Stars Sports Lounge, Weston Central, Weston Super Mare

Reopened under a new name since my previous visit, first impressions weren’t great having to negotiate a gaggle of smokers huddled in the doorway in order to get in. To be fair, one of the bouncers did hold the door open, but then on leaving another one basically blocked the whole pavement and my mate who uses a walking stick had to step in to the road to get past. It seems largely the same as previously in terms of décor including the rather vibrant orange and black stripes on the rear wall. Full height windows along the front of the pub made the most of the outlook, such as it is, and a band were playing on the stage area to the left. They seemed pretty good, but the volume of music made conversation impossible. Unfortunately there were no beers on tap, real or otherwise, although I did spot a bottle of Tribute in the ‘fridge. Ciders fared somewhat better with Thatcher’s Haze and Thatcher’s Gold, the latter coming in at an exceptionally cheap £2 per pint. Even so, I can really see no reason to visit here unless perhaps you want to listen to the band, but then I daresay I’m not their target demographic anyway.
