The Prince of Wales, East Molesey

This seems to be a Greene King house with the usual stuff on offer, including something called April Fool, from Westgate Brewery, and with a name like that I avoided it of course. It’s now stripped out with solid and chunky furniture everywhere, including a number of high stools and high tables. The outside is painted black, which for some reason never endears me to a pub. The most unusual feature seemed to be the glass fronted shelves between drinking areas containing bottles of wine. That’s a strange place to store wine, but I don’t suppose it does it any harm. The best thing about the pub, for me anyway, was the aluminium tables and chairs at the South-facing front of the pub, which looked a decent enough spot to sit and while away a bit of time in the sunshine. It’s not really my type of place, nor my favourite ales, but it did appear to be a clean and tidy, if characterless, pub.
