As part of the Premier Inn the Waiting Room (TWR) has very formulaic décor fitting with this chain of hotels. The interior is L shaped with standard tables and chairs beside the floor to ceiling windows that line the exterior walls. The furniture in the central area of the bar has high backed seating for a more intimate drinking/dining experience. I spotted a single flat screen TV that was on the wall behind the bar. This was showing VH1 which was supplying some low background music to the speakers throughout the bar. Available from the bar during my recent Monday afternoon visit were standard and premium keg products. I found the service to be very friendly, but it took a while to be served due to till malfunction and pouring technique problems. It took so long to receive my change that I thought the barmaid was forging it with her own fair hand. But in the end I received the correct money with cheerful smile so all was forgiven. Anyone who walks away from a Premier Inn bar thinking that they have found a hidden gem of a pub has obviously had a very sheltered life, but I actually thought it was ok for a quiet half after using their dumping facilities.

Modern 'L'-shaped bar forming part of the Premier Inn hotel but open to non-residents. Various seating areas with a range of different furniture types. No real ale, so it was a quick bottle of Pedigree (£3.50) and I was off to catch my train from the nearby Kings Cross station.
