The Earth & Stars, Brighton

A small corner pub with a basic but lively feel about it.Three beers were on handpull I tried local brewery Bartlebys Calico which I found to be a little wishy washy for a 4.2% beer, I liked the pub though and would include it in another pub crawl of the area.

The Earth and Stars is a small U shaped pub that has a student vibe, like many of the pubs in this area. It opens at noon every day and closes at midnight On Sundays through to Thursdays and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. The bar supports four hand pumps that were drawing Dark Star’s Over the Moon, Arundel’s Trident and Hepworth’s Prospect with the fourth being unused. There is also a very limited lager selection and two draught ciders. Food is served and the mains that I saw were priced between £8 and £10. There is more seating and a balcony area upstairs where I did not visit and there is an area for hire at £30 a night. I found the service to be friendly and the Dark Star was on good form. I’d have no problem returning here.
