The Erskine Arms, Conwy

The Erskine Arms was my third pub on a recent midweek visit to Conwy. After being in the Albion and the Bank of Conwy, the Erskine Arms completed a decent trio of pubs to start my day. I was a bit aggrieved to find some kind of "welcome" podium at the entrance where I was asked if I'd made a reservation. It seems many tables on higher levels of this split-level pub are for diners. I was invited to head down a short flight of stairs to the bar, where there were a few empty tables. There was also an outdoor area available to drinkers. Conwy Clogwyn Gold & Timothy Taylor Boltmaker appear to be the regular beers on here. In addition, there was Purple Moose Snowdonia Ale & Cwrw Ial Kia Kaha! The real cider was Lilley's Mango Cider. I chose the cider and enjoyed my drink next to a rather large fireplace. I'm reliably informed that this pub can get very busy at times. It certainly enjoys a good location next to the railway station and close to the castle and the town walls. Definitely one of the better pubs in town.
