Well described by Blackthorn, below, this was a good find when visiting Worle and certainly provided a contrast to the plethora of new-build chain pubs nearby. There was a good sized car park, though this quickly filled up with over-sized families and their over-sized cars, the former quickly filling the pub and taking up too much space We sat at the bar to eat our lunch. I ordered a sausage roll – what appeared looked like a cat’s vomit Wellington, due to the mixing of chorizo with the sausage meat and overheating before serving, but it was, to be fair, edible and cheap. The ales on were Gem, Tribute, Proper Job and Doombar. I had the Proper Job and found it to be in good condition. The craft offerings were Gamma Ray and Neck Oil. I’d be happy to come back for a few beers but would probably eat elsewhere next time.
