Duke of York, Heaviley, Stockport

The Duke of York has seating in the front right and a bar counter mid-way up the right-hand wall. There is a pool table and dartboard in the right rear and more seating runs up the left-hand side of the pub. Out the back is a large patio garden with picnic tables. Premium and craft keg were available, and being a Robinsons pub the three hand pumps were drawing Dizzy Blonde, Cumbria Way and their Unicorn Brewing’s AMO. This place was OK, although I didn’t really see anything that elevates it above the many other Robbie’s pubs in Stockport.

A Robbies house that has had a recent refurbishment. The room to the left is painted a horrible grey colour and appears to have a dance floor area which is a bit tatty underfoot, but the bar area is nice enough. There's another area to the rear with a pool table. There's a small room to the right with nice copper fireplaces. It's very dog friendly as there is a water bowl set out for them. The toilets were very smelly and the beer wasn't a lot better with my Dizzy Blonde being just about OK. Loads of TV screens all around the pub. I really didn't take to this place at all. Apparently they have accommodation. but nothing could persuade me to stay here.
