The Viper, Ingatestone

Went in Friday lunchtime, my first visit since it's refurbishment was completed a few weeks back Looks much the same, one large bar room, divided into two sections, one carpeted with tables, the other has two pool tables, giant TV constantly on hanging on the wall 2 fruit machines, one ciggy machine, and TV in "lounge" area talking to itself Big notices up that drug takers will be reported to police Usual range of drinks, John Smith smooth, Fosters lager etc. I had a pint of Young's bitter at £2.75, which was pleasant enough, so a normal suburban pub Update Jan 2009, Under new management, same people who have taken over the Bird in Hand along the road, but the clientele are different, so should be OK

Wonderfull pub in the middle of nowhere.Can get busy.Beware of the hot chilli con carne,comes with a management health warning.Live music ocasionally on Monday nights

Beer OK, Food OK, bad service, dissapointing attitude of staff and management
