The White Bear, Warlingham

Upmarket Brakspear country dining pub out in the sticks but still busy on a Thursday lunchtime (although the hot, sunny weather and imminent bank holiday weekend no doubt played a part in that). Extended and comprehensively refurbished, but it does retain a smidgen of character within the multi-room interior. Mind you, almost everyone was out in the spacious part-patio / part-grassed beer garden anyway. Apart from that, just Gravity (£6.45 with a packet of Pipers 'Atlas Mountains' Wild Thyme & Rosemary crisps) available from the four handpumps, with a reversed Oxford Gold clip on another.
