This is a Greene King pub that had only IPA on (at £2.60 a pint), although there was a clip reversed on another pump, most likely for Abbot Ale. The menu featured the usual cheap pub grub, including a £2.99 meal and drink deal. This looks like a relatively new build pub, possibly post-war. It’s clearly a locals’ pub, and was doing a good trade on Sunday afternoon, with almost everyone watching the Man U v Liverpool game on the large TV screens. There is a large island bar in the centre of the room, with drinking areas wrapped around it, and with a room at the back containing a pool table apparently being used as a kids’ playroom during my visit. It’s furnished entirely with normal tables and chairs. I thought this pub was fairly characterless, with no features worthy of mention. I doubt whether I’ll be paying a return visit.
