The Crystal Palace, Tunbridge Wells

I was the only customer in the Crystal Palace on the Monday afternoon I visited three weeks ago. The guy behind the bar was polite enough, but I wasn’t so keen on the three pub dogs that were effortlessly crushing bones in their mouths. This is an L shaped pub with a couple of TVs for showing Sky Sports and there is a dartboard by the entrance. The walls are adorned with old pump clips, but only one of the two hand pumps was operational during my visit and it was drawing Palace Blonde Ale (crafted for fans apparently –yawn!). There is a limited draught selection and the Guinness was perfectly acceptable. There is a beer garden out the back but I didn’t take a look as I would have had to step over two of the dogs. I doubt that I will be returning here soon.
