Welsh Harp, Waltham Abbey

A very old building with a crazy roof line with lots of exposed timbers.There is a coaching arch which leads to the churchyard and a few tables and chairs to the front.The interior also shows it's age with low beams , leaded windows and parquet flooring around the L shaped bar.It's a single room but with two wings ,sadly the overall affect is one of neglect.There is an unplayable darts board,bar stools which dont match the other furniture,a security light full on and distracting together with desperate hip hop muzak.Only one real ale in this McMullens tied house being AK served too warm. Apparently tapas is served on Fridays and Saturdays until 10pm,but there wasnt much sign of other food options,and there wasn't much sign of other customers on my midweek trip. With some TLC and a better selection of ale this could be a very atmospheric pub,but it's let down due to lack of care.
