Druid Arms, Bristol

As described by others, below, this is an excellent traditional village local. It’s lively, welcoming and supports the whole village demography as well as being a venue in its own right. There was a much-appreciated open fire burning when we visited, and the regulars appeared pleased to accept us despite it being very busy for a mid-week early evening. Food was restaurant-style, with prices to match. Ales on were Tribute and Butcombe Original, both in excellent condition. Keg options were Thatcher’s Gold and Dry, Korev, Fosters and 1664. I’d be very happy to come back any time.

The stone circles expand into the pub beergarden - which adds a fairly unusual touch. Three prehistoric standing stones (one collapsed) amongst the bench tables and beer umbrellas. Inside, its a two roomer. There is a dartboard, but on a Sunday, the oche was taken by more tables for dining. The sunday lunches were impressive and the service excellent. Beef £18, other meats/veggie for reference. Despite all the diners and tourists, its still a locals pub. Four old boys sat in the front sunshine with a proper card game on green baize. Tribute and Butcombe on Cask. Korev on Keg. Definitely a pleasant place to visit.
