The Ladhope Inn, Galashiels

locals pub, across the railway from a retail park. No real ale due to follow on from Covid, not one to linger in if not from the area, but friendly enough

This is a small pub on the main A7 road out of Galashiels towards Edinburgh. It consists of a single wide room that has been modernised and is rather dominated by two TV screens which were on but silent. The bar has just two hand pumps which had one unused and Box Steam Summer Buzz (£3.20), hardly a Locale beer and it came as no surprise at all that it was an insipid bland cooking beer. This place is GBG 2017 listed which shows what a difficult area this is for real ale.
