Butterburn Bar, Hamilton

Sadly "The Hole" as it is known (from its location nothing else)is closed and boarded up. The carpark has become a fly-tippers heaven. Very sad to see the old place. Before the advent of the railway the pub was known as The James Bridge Tavern.

Despite the other two contributions being written by the landlord's children , they are correct . It's a great wee pub . No hassle , good beer , friendly staff/customers . Full age-range catered for , though tending towards the middle-aged group . Beer - Tennant's Special / Belhaven Best & Light . Lager-Tennant's / Carling . Good selection of whiskies for this non-whisky drinking age . Sky TV , music nights Thursday and some Saturdays . Only 5 minutes walk from Hamilton Central Station - highly recommended to visitors . Glad I've started drinking here again .

Top pub with friendly punters and a quiet wee lounge to sit in.
