Chlachain Inn / Tigh-a-Chlachain, Mallaig

Enough time between the train pulling in and out again (this is the end of the line, in every sense) for one half, so chose this as the less ‘obvious’ pub, being slightly uphill from what passes as the town centre. Very modern fit-out, a straightforward oblong room which was nicely – if greyly - decorated. Relaxed clientele. Pool. One naked cask pump, Isle of Skye beers spotted in the fridge. So Tennents it was, inevitably. Perfectly decent for what it is.

Just up the hill from the station and harbour, its a modern one room pub set mainly for families. Limited beer choice and a bit ordinary
