Hebrides West End, Edinburgh

Modern bar, more like a cocktail bar than a pub but very smart, with a lovely ceiling map of Edinburgh. Very well kept pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord. Worth checking out, along with Thompsons Bar, over the road. Visit blogged at http://bit.ly/2D0AhUB

Cosy bar, irregular in shape, with more space upstairs apparrently (not visited). Traditional furniture and decor. Sunday night folk session ongoing when I visited, with a small but appreciative audience. Three handpumps on the bar, with Stewart Brewing's Copper Cascade (£3.55) being the pick of the crop. Overall, although not well known, worth a visit if in the Haymarket area.
