Visited 05/11/25 & 06/11/25 but recording review based on later date! Hand pulls were Made North from Thornbridge, Jarl from Fyne Ales, the Imperial Stout from Mills & Hills, Paolozzi Helles Lager. Keg offering of Reaper Grease imperial stout, Kelvin Pilsner from Drygate, Thistly Cross cider, Guinness, Budvar, Disco Forklift Truck pale ale also from Drygate, Momo's 60/- Light Ale and Callan's Gold Scottish lager. Old school corner boozer on a corner with a good line of sight to the castle from the side of the venue if standing outside. Inside well-worn herringbone block wood flooring with the bar counter on the left-hand wall with tall stool seating at the bar counter. Some tall stools in the window to the left of the entrance and a banquette to the right. There is a small table on its own up a step in the right-hand front window. Otherwise, a shed load of small low stools around a couple of tables in front of a working fire. Beyond the front part is another seating area with regular tables and some red leather banquettes, some of which were occupied by patrons playing board games on my early afternoon visit. Some nice mirrors and brass plates on the walls. A pleasant, smaller traditional venue with an interesting and varied beer offering.
