The Albion Bar, Drum, Edinburgh

This small corner pub is situated near Easter Road football ground, the stands of which tower overhead barely a goal kick away. The single room interior is quite basic with the bar on the far side, a darts area to the right a couple of flat screen TV’s showing sky Sports and 2 small screens over the bar canopy. Furnishings are plain, simple and functional with little of intrest that stands out although various name plates on the table tops did catch my eye, the pupose of which I have no idea. As one would expect, it can get busy on match days although I found it far more accessible than a couple of the other nearby pubs where I couldn’t get anywhere near the bar. The beers here are little to shout about, no real ales and just standard kegs, algers etc so I opted for a Belhaven Best which at £2.70 seemed reasonable enough. It isn’t a place that I would necessarily bother with other than to kill 20 minutes before a match but if you like simple and unpretentious back street locals and aren’t too discerning over your choice of drink, it may hold some appeal.
