The Booking Office (JD Wetherspoon), Edinburgh

I fully expected this to be a typical station JDW but it is far enough on the edge of Waverley Station for it not to be. If you find yourself on Waverley Station just go up the Taxi road heading West from the middle of the station and it's on the right at the top. Inside it's an open plan rectangular room but there are some stairs leading down to the toilets and a patio. I turned up here at around ten on a Thursday morning to find there are still a few outposts of drinking civilisation left in Scotland, although whether they would have served me four hours earlier when they open is another matter. Beers available apart from Abbot and Doom Bore were all Scottish with only a small amount of doubling up. I went for the Stewart's Edinburgh Gold (£3.19) which was ridiculously expensive for a JDW but in good nick. Due to the high prices I doubt that I would bother coming here again which is a shame as apart from that it seems a decent JDW.
