Wellingtons Lounge Bar, Ayr

Basement bar down several steps from street level, with the entrance denoted by a large Wellington boot on the pavement. This was my favourite bar I visited in Ayr. Walking in, I instantly felt at home. There was a warm welcome from the young barmaid and locals sat at the bar were all quite friendly and chatty, happy to discuss the merits of some of the real ales on the bar. A group of French men were also sat along one wall sampling Scottish whiskies. 3 Scottish real ales were on - Loch Lomond Say Hello To My Little Friend and both Goldihops and Sunriser from Kelburn. The interior is reasonably compact, with seating wrapping almost around the central bar.

hidden cellar bar but worth seeking out, friendly pleasant interior & small outside terrace. Good beer
