The Potters Wheel (JD Wetherspoon), Swansea

The ‘quiet’ one of Swansea’s two Spoons, opened in 1996 though has been refurbed since then. As described below the building sweeps round from the Kingsway to Dillwyn Street, creating a very shallow but remarkably wide room in an arc shape. Glacially slow service, Swayze and Moore could have made half a dozen pots in the time it took someone to actually pull their finger out and when Dumbo literally had a till in front of him, he walked to another to take payment - poor quality customer service really is a Swansea speciality. Anyway it was dull if packed; my ale from the three guests (a Gower Upandunder) was fine (NBSS 3) and it cost £2.13. Inevitably, given the indolent service levels, the Wifi was broken.

Elongated 'spoons with a semi-modern, partly split-level interior. Very little to distinguish it from most other outlets of similar ilk. Fairly pedestrian selection of real ales from the two banks of five handpumps, but there were a couple of local(ish) selections including the Boss Blaze (£2.15)
