The Old Cottage, Lisvane, Cardiff

Chain pub right next to the M4 and also next to a large park. This used to be an Ember Inn, but is now some other subsidiary of Mitchells & Butlers. We made our way to some kind of podium, as requested by signage. The usual "have you booked" was asked. "No" was the usual response. We were then shown to a table in a small and cosy area adjacent to the bar. The pub has a number of seating areas and a nice outdoor space at the front. Tribute was the solitary real ale, which did not appeal. £5 for a half of beer and a fruit juice seemed a bit excessive. Although the beer was a craft beer from Tiny Rebel (Cali Pale). Not really much to recommend this pub, which seems to focus very much on dining.
