More restaurant than pub at the time of my Monday lunchtime visit, though very few were lunching. I had a half of Llyn Seithenyn, a modern pale with a bit of something about it, but only just in good condition (NBSS 3, £5.80/pint). This is an interesting building, with photographable windows and spiral staircase, but it's not a comfortable place for drinking and they would really much rather I had ordered a meal.

As outlined below, this attractive whitewashed stone pub with lovely stained glass windows is actually very much a restaurant operation and said sofa is still in operation for that purpose. We did pop in with the intention of eating in addition to drinking but were told there were no tables spare. So we had a notably expensive pint (a cask of the Cwrw Llyn, in decent nick – NBSS 3) and warmed the sofa. One of the staff then beedled over to say that we could have a table if we could turn it round in 60 minutes, so fair play to them for being pro-active. The food was nice, if somewhat ambitiously priced for the area. The place itself is a fairly bland mid-market affair but in terms of the locale it has a niche nobody else serves.
