The Lifeboat Tavern, Tenby

Another of the pubs close to the main square in the centre of Tenby. Internally it’s a bit of a strange place with a nautical theme going on. It looks quite small when you enter, but actually stretches back some way at a lower level down to a little secluded beer garden at the back. As you enter the first section has the small, boat shaped bar, around which is half a dozen tables, an open fire, and a couple of fruit machines. Then you step down a few steps into a larger wooden floored second section with more tables and chairs and mainly set for dining, and then beyond this is the small beer garden. I quite liked the Lifeboat as it had a nice feel to it and there was Hancocks HB on hand pump, which I hadn’t seen in any other Brains pub on this trip. It seems to attract a younger clientele, but these were more student types than the ‘erberts across the road in the Tenby House on the evening of my visit.
