The Hole In The Wall, Bodmin

Odd little one accessed through either a public car park or a small gate off the pavement – though you do at least get to walk through the rather nice enclosed garden. Two buildings in one, with a front extension and then the small stone walled original. Very cosy and atmospheric with pub carpet, red velveteen pews, fire (not real), highly polished walnut bar and a load of old knick-knacks (with military curios a speciality) hanging from the ceiling. Seven pumps, six clipped, with Bass (past its best, NBSS 2.5), Sharps Special and Atlantic, Avocet Xmas Beer, Tintagel Arthur's and Timothy Taylor Landlord Dark. Friendly landlord who made time for strangers amongst the customers. Shame the Bass wasn’t better really as otherwise this would be bothering a 9.
