The Golden Slipper, York

Other reviewers have given detailed descriptions, so I'll confine myself to saying that it's an interesting old building, well presented and comfortable. There were five real ales available on hand pump, two from Timothy Taylor, plus one each from Copper Dragon, Caledonian, and Wells & Youngs. There were some interesting pictures on the walls and the snug library would I am sure have rewarded a longer stay. The totally unnecessary and incongruous pop music was as unavoidable here as in all the other pubs on this street.

Loved the interior of this busy pub with it's many interesting rooms. TV was on and a few round the bar were egging the horses on at Cheltenham, so regulars like sport TV. Enjoyed the Rudgate Well Blathered beer - others were more bog standard choice, but beer was well kept.
