The Beehive, Sheffield

Now part of the Stonegate pub group, the beer choice on the bar these days is from five Bradfield beers, with Black Sheep Bitter available on a sixth hand pump. The large room resulting from the amalgamation of two buildings is split up somewhat into distinct areas, with one smallish alcove qualifying as a sort of snug, having its own TV screen, one of a dozen or so scattered about. This would be my choice for football matches that are not available on terrestrial channels. Cheap beer on Tuesdays and free pool Wednesdays.

Now renamed as the Beehive, though it's doubled in size since it last bore that name, the original pub having been knocked through into the next building some years ago. There's a sort of sub-Wetherspoons feel about the place now, and the prices are not bad for this part of town, around the £2.40 - £2.50 mark for real ales. Choice was limited to four pale and hoppy beers, which is not to my taste, but if you like Abbeydale beers you'll like the Beehive.
