The Hanbury Turn, Stoke Heath, Bromsgrove

Traditional Black Country Ales pub with the expected traditional furniture and decor throughout the L-shaped interior. Usual good selection from the row of 12 handpumps, with nine real ales and three draught ciders available on my visit which coincided with a popular Tuesday evening pub quiz, and in the end I settled for the guest Gollop with Zest from Froth Blowers (£4.00).

Good Beer Guide 2023 and has had the BCA Makeover. Clean, tidy and classically pubby. Several buildings/extensions knocked into one long run through. Bottom area has bench seating, dart board. Central area narrower with the bar. Outside terrace. Classic BCA with around 7 hand pulls but at least two of them to cider. Screen tells you wants on. Titanic Plum Porter turned down in preference to a Geneva IPA from Printworks. Never heard of them before but a fine beer, well kept. Cobs and massive pork pies available from a chiller cabinet - with a salad bar that would put a Harvester to shame :-)

The Hanbury Turn has been purchased by Black Country Ales and is going to be completely refurbished.
