The Loose Goose, Sowerby Bridge

I liked this place despite it being a bit of a dive. 3 rooms as far as I could see and 4 handpumps on the bar. I think this place may be a laugh of a night.

The Long Chimney is a short walk from the train station,but away from the town centre. Once inside there is a pool room to the front left,the main bar room is to the right,this room is oblong shaped and is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and small stools,there was a TV showing atletics. There is a separate room to the rear which has a stage,which looks out of use. There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Pennine Hair of the Dog which went down very well,the other beers were Elland Blonde and Wold Top Cow. This is a proper unspoilt pub that is well worth a visit if in Sowerby Bridge. Pub visited 29/8/2015

A very traditional multi-room pub, internally half timber decoration, externally typical Pennine town grey stone. The floors are part carpet, part flag in the main bar, the rear rooms having a pool table in one and a disco type set up in the other, furnishing verges on the industrial apart from traditional banquette seating. The windows retain the BYB symbol of Bentleys brewery. The four pulls on this occasion had Doombar and Hertfordshire stranger McMullens AK, a lager a cider and a smooth were also available. The name comes from some sort of long underground chimney that passes nearby from a factory to a conventional chimney on the adjacent hillside.
