The Drop Inn, Elland

A bit of a walk out for this Ossett pub, it resides in an area of converted mills, industrial units and 20th century housing. Boasting a range of Ossett and a Riverhead beer on the eight pulls, three were doubled up. Two rooms, there’s an L shaped lounge to the right with dart board as you enter and a tap room at the back extending further left. Flag and board floors, the furniture is a mix of pews and banquette with a few mismatched chairs. It wouldn’t be an Ossett pub without an old cask somewhere and there’s one by the end of the counter. Old mugs, earthenware jars, teapots and brass jugs with some art deco posters form the decor. There was piped music but being 1970-80s I wasn’t as alarmed as usual. Pretty decent and probably worth the walk out, the clientele were mostly bar blockers on my afternoon visit.
