The Commercial Railway, Brighouse

Handy for the station and lively on a sunny August evening. Four hand pumps, with Tetley's Cask plus the three in my photo, of which I went for Copper Dragon Golden Pippin (NBSS 3.5(. When I offered my card as payment I was told there's a 15p charge for card payments. I suggested that this might be illegal, but the lass said that's what she'd been told to say. Rather than have her (possibly) break the law, I gave her a £10 note and got £8 change; how quaint. I wonder what the bank charges are for a bag of pound coins?

The Commercial Railway is handily placed just down from Brighouse train station. Once inside the main room is oblong shaped with the bar on the right side,the seating is comfy bench type and small stools,there is a smaller square shaped room to the front left which also has bench seating and small stools,both rooms are carpeted and have a very comfortable feel to them. There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Copper Dragon Golden Pippin which went down well,the other real ales were Tetley Cask and Derby Brewery Hop Till You Drop. There is a pool table and background music was playing. I found this to be a very comfortable pub to have a drink in,one i could settle in if not on a pub crawl. Pub visited 3/9/2016
