The Old Bank, Bradford

This pub along with the City Vaults is now managed by the Mansfield Brewing Co. There where four handpumps in operation on our visit. I went for the Sonnet IPA, which was in fine order. The upstairs lounge was the main feature here, with elaborate cornice work, arched stained glass window and some jade marble decorating parts of the walls.

A refreshed bar with high level light wood furniture and floors, a few old bits remain by staircase and there's some deposit boxes in rear wall. It as a low ceiling of distressed ceiling tiles. Cask choice on the eight pulls was limited to four plus a cider although a Golden Salamander just came on but when served (without testing) was cloudy and not fit to drink, it was swapped for a Tetley bitter without question, but that was fairly tired. There's a few interesting kegs outside of the usual suspects. Upstairs is much more decorative with original ceilings but after the Tetley's we moved on.

Good news for once. The Old Bank has been bought by the people who own the City Vaults (amongst other pubs) and is to be refurbished and reopened as a pub specialising in real ales.
