The Exchange, Bradford

A city centre cellar bar underneath the impressive Wool Exchange building, fairly packed on a Friday evening so difficult to get a proper feel of the place but it seemed fit for purpose with 9 or so ales and ciders. Certainly the best place in this part of the city.

Bradford Camra branch pub of the year, and this slightly subterranean bar beneath on of the many imposing city-centre buildings offers seating on three levels: out on the pavement, a few tables on an intermediate level by the windows and in the larger area under a barrel-vaulted ceiling around the bar. Seven interesting cask beers on handpump; mostly fairly local - e.g. my Redmire Scotch from Tigertops (£4.40) - but also a pair from Iron Pier in Kent.
