The Bedford consists of a small bar to the right and a larger L shaped bar to the left. The entire pub was heaving during my recent Saturday afternoon visit that coincided with England v Wales in the Six Nations. There was no room in the larger left hand bar, but I managed to find a seat that faced a couple of televisions in the smaller bar. Standard draught lined the bar, but four hand pumps in the larger bar were drawing Fullers’ London pride, Wells’ Bombardier and Timothy Taylor’s landlord. The pub almost emptied at the climax of the rugby so I had the opportunity to have a nose around the left hand bar. I found a projector screen and dartboard to the left, plasma screens throughout and pool table to the right. I enjoyed my visit to this pub and would be a regular if I lived locally.
