The Woolpack, Chichester

With a grey tartan carpet throughout, the Woolpack has a central L-shaped serving counter that faces the entrance to the front and a pool table to the left where the only other customers on a Saturday afternoon visit were having a frame or two. In the front left corner is a dartboard and bar billiards, so I think this left-hand side of the pub can be classed as the public bar area, whereas the right-hand side is more of a lounge, and dining area for the heavily advertised carvery. The carvery wasn’t in operation during my visit and there were no diners, but there is lots of parking, so I assume it does get busy during food service times. There used to be four hand pumps on the front bar but there’s a gap where two have been removed, so the cask options were Hophead and Adnams’ Broadside. Standard and premium keg was also available and the draught options across the front bar are repeated up the left. This is a decent local pub, but I’m not sure that I’ll be walking out of the city centre to revisit.
