Medium sized JD with a single horseshoe bar.There was a good selection of real ales with the Roosters Cockburn being in top form.Very resonable prices.

Typical Wetherspoons except that I could get served quickly. A good selection of beers. I tried the Sadlers Mud City Stout and the Beowulf Hurricane which were on good form whilst chomping on a mixed grill. Sadly there was one dipstick in here who claimed he wanted a fight with anyone. He didn't get it happily. Pretty good for a Wetherspoons.

A medium sized JD Wetherspoon’s owned pub which has a single open plan room with a large central U shaped bar, on either side of the room there are several booths divided by stained glass partitions. Typical neutral JDW décor with a couple of flat screen TV’s normally showing a news channel or Sky sports news, lots of framed posters on the walls providing interesting information about Wolverhampton’s engineering and manufacturing history, including Boulton & Paul Aircraft, Sunbeam motor cars, Norton motor bikes and Guy Arab buses and lorries. Its worth noting that the toilets are down two flights of stairs and there is no beer garden or patio, so smokers often congregate just outside the front door which I think can be a bit off putting to new comers. Regular ales are Green King Ruddles Best Bitter, Abbot Ale, Marston’s Pedigree, Banks’s Bitter and (or) Mild with usually five changing guest beers, mainly from smaller breweries in the West Midlands and neighbouring counties (Holden’s, Slater’s, Titanic) but occasionally from further a field (GBG2010). A decent example of the Wetherspoon’s brand in my opinion, it can be good for a quick pint before catching a bus or train from the nearby stations, or part of a crawl as the guest beers are often from fairly rare breweries for Wolverhampton, the beer is well kept in my experience and the poster decorations are interesting and informative. As always the beer is cheep which inevitably attracts a minority of undesirables but I’ve not seen any trouble during my visits.

For me, slighly under the typical Spoons standard. The look and layout is the same as the rest and the food the same, served quickly and with a smile. Service at the bar seemed to be left to one happy and helpful guy, while other staff busied themselves doing cleaning and the matriarch watched. The choice of beers, is again, excellent. Usual tosh, Banks's MILD smooth and several ales; Cairngorm Wildcat was top notch. The clientele is a good mix, however, there are always plenty of 'dipsticks' around and the scale of the Benson & Hedges guard of honour at the entrance is amazing.
