The Bentlands, Wolverhampton

This is an impressive building with sandstone window frames and large bay windows which is owned by Mitchell’s and Butler’s. There are two entrances from the large car park but If you enter through the arched door there is a medium sized lounge with a square U shaped bar at the back of the room, two fire places back to back on the right, one has a stone surround with a large flat screen TV above, while the other is cast iron with ceramic tiles and a wooden mantle piece. On the left of the room next to the bar counter is a conservatory extension which has double doors that lead out to a very large beer garden. On the right hand wall next to the bar is a second large flat screen TV which usually shows sporting events, décor is modern with walls painted to look like a sandstone villa, also there were several arty abstract paintings dotted around. Regular ales are Green King IPA, Courage Directors Bitter and St Austell Tribute with a single changing guest beer which on my most recent visit was Enville Ale. The beer always seems to be well kept in my opinion. A popular local’s pub that specialises in good Mexican food, but they do offer more standard pub food as well. They provide four ales that while not being the most adventurous are not very common in this area. Well worth a look in if you’re in the area and you fancy a change from the locally dominant Banks’s beers, especially in the summer as the beer garden is enormous!

Fine local pub with good grub. Sadly only one or two real beers at a time. Large garden with plenty of tables for the sunny afternoons and evenings.
