Spring Cottage, Walsall

I was aiming for the Romping Cat over the road, but was 15 minutes early. The lights were on and the door open but I was told that they were closed until 2pm. It was 1:45 and with other places to explore, I said I would come back later. However, customer service is alive and well and they said it was no problem to serve me early. No cask on. So a Cruzcampo. Not exactly the season for it in Decemember :-) A large single roomer - the bar has a nice wooden bar back advertised other delights unavailable. More punters came in before 2pm - proving how trends start. A nice friendly locals pub, where I was included in conversations and the jokes.
