The Romping Cat, Walsall

My CAMRA heritage book is 10 years old. There are three listings for Bloxwich and this is the only one still functioning. Tuesday, 3pm and there was one other punter. This pub ticking game gets sadder by the week. Three room original layout - I found only two - the front bar and lounge. No music on. Tv Off. Bar lady had earphones in. Discomfort could have only really been improved by a slowly ticking grandfather clock. That said - the beer was excellent. I didnt expect to find Tetleys Bitter on cask. A bit weak and I am sure purists will say its a pale shadow but it was in perfect condition.
