The Crown, Walsall

A massive detached corner pub, with dormer windows, rendered with a beer patio. The interior is one large open plan room, it seemed, around a central bar, with a family area, pool area and SKY TV to 'come and watch X-Factor with them', so they advertise outside. It is mainly set out for food, with a budget menu. The decor is a collection of plain, but different coloured walls; white, salmon, mustard and so on, which do have a few old photos of Aldrige on amongst other things. The service was functional, the clientele mixed and it was busy. Beer; tap stuff with a decent M&B MILD. There was Timothy Taylor Landlord on handpull, with the other two pumps not being used. It was a decent M&B, but it is too big and soulless for me to return to.
