Beehive Inn, Sutton Coldfield

Large-ish inn just off main road through Curdworth. Ok, a little bit of a country pub near main roads, comfortable enough, lots of space set out for dining, from an ok menu, real ale that was ok, and thats what you keep thinking, ok.

A detached white painted brick pub/eatery, with patio area. The interior has two rooms. A very small bar room, with a dart board can be found to the left when entering the main door. This is in white and green had several mature locals in, happily complaining about something and a small bar serving area. The main room is the lounge/dining room and is in a rough U-shape around the serving bar. The decor is in grey and cream walls, with some undressed brick, wood beams and a few fireplace features. Entry from the right of the main door will take you into a long but narrow seating area. The rest and majority of the room is taken up with foody tables and dining. I didn't eat, but the menu seemed around £8 for a main course. Interest was supplied by a mix of arty pictures and various old prints. The service was fine, the clientele all eating and mixed in this room and music was easy listening and at a decent level. Beer; tap stuff with Peroni, with Brew XI, Pedigree and a reasonable Adnams Bitter on handpull. A good mix between traditional and modern that should leave most people satisfied. I would happily return and eat here. Nice to come back, only been 20 years since my last visit!
