The Swan, Stourbridge

Nasty snot green exterior. Decent interior if a bit gloomy and not many people were in. My Birmingham BC Blonde Brummie was in decent nick (NBSS 3.5). Owned by the same people as the upmarket Red Lion down the road. GBG’23 listed. 6.5

Now owned by the same company as the Red Lion, further down Brettell Lane. Now an open plan U shaped pub, which has been refurbished to a good standard. The outside area looks nice, too. Quite a few beers on handpull, but the Glow was £3.60 and mediocre. Early days for them, but even if the quality improves it's a bit expensive.

Traditional 2 roomed Black Country local with a basic bar, a plusher lounge and a nice garden to the rear, situated on the Brettell Lane pub run. The landlord Geoff has been in residence since 1985! The decor maybe a little dated for some but the ales usually 3 of them are well kept. I really like this pub, there used to be so many down to earth local boozers like this sadly they are fast becoming a dying breed. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
