The Hop Pole, Warrington

The Hop Pole is made up by a seating area in the front of the pub and a bar which is found up a couple of steps on the right hand wall. This bar faces another seating area on the left hand wall and there are a few tables at the rear of the pub. Step free access can be gained to the bar through the rear entrance. My visit was at 21:30 on Saturday evening last week when the pub was comfortably busy with a crowd that were enjoying a karaoke disco that was set up by the front entrance. There are a couple of plasma screens that were off and I didn’t spot any Sky Sports advertisements. The bar is stocked with standard draught and I counted three hand pumps. They were all off, but Bombardier, Jenning’s Cumberland and Greene King IPA are available when not reversed clipped. I didn’t note any advertisements for food. Out the back there are some picnic tables that face the shopping area. This place feels like it has had some recent decoration and is clean, but I found it to be a run-of-the-mill high street boozer and the karaoke was brain splittingly loud.
