The Cross Inn (J D Wetherspoon), Kingswinford

I was here for the three Good Beer Guide recommendations (2025) and this wasn't one. Absolutely heaving to the point that the app was quicker than queuing at the bar (proper queuing, not in a line). Beer garden packed. Jaipur, fantastic quality and the cheapest I have found it at £2.29. So - best pub out of 4, with the best choice and quality of ale and not in the Good Beer Guide. Ha!

Located in a prominent position on the main crossroads, this traditional pub building has been recently converted and extended by Wetherspoon. All much as you would expect inside the various seating / dining areas, but with enough partitions to avoid too cavernous a feel. Also has a sizeable patio beer garden to one side. Six real ales available from the two banks of duplicated handpumps, Banks's Mild and two local Enville beers - White (£1.99) and Ginger - available in addition to the usual trio of Ruddles, Doom Bar and Abbot.
